Capital of Liechtenstein, Vaduz has just over 5000 inhabitants, is located west of the Principality, and is bordered by the Rhine that embodies here the border with Switzerland. To move around the city, there is a bus network and numerous taxi companies. You will discover several attractions in Vaduz: the princely 12th century castle that overlooks the modern part of the city, where you will visit galleries of paintings and vineyards; the Museum of Fine Arts, whose ultra-modern building houses a fine collection of modern art and contemporary sculptures and installations; St. Florin Cathedral which adjoins the necropolis of the royal family; Stamp Museum, which is one of the most renowned in the world; the Ski Museum, reflecting the history of the sport since birth; the Löwen restaurant, located in the old town, which dates back to 1380 and there is a landmark of the local gastronomy. In addition, many excursions are possible in the immediate vicinity, hiking in summer and skiing in winter. You can also stroll pleasantly on the market, a drink in one of the cafes of the old city, visiting the Prince wine cellar. Close to the capital, you'll love the village of Triesenberg.
