What to do in Split : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Second city in Croatia, Split has just under 200 thousand. Located in the south of the country, it has a town center built inside the walls that once protected the vast palace of the emperor Diocletian in the 3rd century BC. JC. On this site, where today live 3000 people, there are several monuments to discover: mausoleum, the Sphinx Temple, the Peristyle, vestibule. Stroll also in the pedestrian street of Marmontova, and out of the enclosure, go admire St. Domnuis cathedral, City Hall, the palace Ciprian, the Ethnographic Museum and the Maritime Museum. The city is also a good starting point for excursions nearby, eg quarries of the island of Brac, the picturesque villages of the island of Hvar, or the National Park Mljet island. Question accommodation, the city offers solutions for all budgets. To move it, you will have the train or bus, the second being a bit more expensive but more reliable and faster. You easily find restaurants serving Croatian specialties and shops where to buy typical souvenirs to as the Dalmatian lace, leather goods, jewelery, carpets or wine country.
