What to do in Palikir : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Capital of Micronesia Palikir is located on the island of Pohnpei, northwest, and has just over 6,000 inhabitants. It contains the main administrations, and government buildings. From the capital, one can easily access all the sights of the island, which is only 130 km in circumference. It is reached by the nearby airport of Kolonia, the former capital. Palikir, although it has no direct access to the sea, is famous for its surfing nearby and for its possibilities of scuba diving. The city itself offers no particular attraction, but there are shops, bars, and the main road through the state.
