What to do in Lyon : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
A French city situated at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône, Lyon has about 500,000 inhabitants. With a rich history, the city has existed since antiquity. It remains today at the crossroads of many French and European routes. In the city, metro, tram, trolleybus and bus assist in getting people around easily. In addition, there is a funicular service and bicycle rental. Lyon is well served by an airport and a main railway line. Highly regarded for its quality of life, the city also offers tourists a rich heritage, both architecturally and culturally. The city is listed as a world heritage area by UNESCO, with ancient sites such as Fourvière hill, and the medieval and Renaissance parts of the old city among others.
