What to do in Khao Lak : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
The island of Khao Lak is located in Thailand, 80 km from Phuket Airport, and is accessed by a bridge that connects it to the mainland. Despite the enormous damage caused by the tsunami, Khao Lak is now intact and remains a well preserved and still beautiful place. The place is very quiet, offering the traveler beautiful and long sandy beaches, lush vegetation, magnificent seabed, waterfalls and beautiful hotels. You can discover temple Suwankhuba, amazing Buddhist monastery, with its reclining Buddha 15 meters long; Phang Nga where travel by canoe caves and tunnels decorated with stalactites and limestone peaks that rise hundreds of meters above the water; Panvi Kho village, a fishing village on stilts housed on one of its peaks. Khao Lak Park, you will be in contact with the abundant tropical vegetation and its rich wildlife like lizards or tapirs, but you can also swim in waterfalls and possibly make an elephant ride , or climb mountains or Lak Lam Ru (over 1000 meters). Be sure to indulge in diving with a mask and snorkel, it will be good enough to admire the fabulous underwater wonders. To get to Khao Lak, take a flight from Bangkok to Phuket, then the road to 1h30 journey. To move then you will have a choice of very affordable ways: tuk-tuk, motorcycle taxi, or rental bike or scooter.
