What to do in Honiara : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Capital of the Solomon Islands, Honiara, on the north coast of the island of Guadalcanal, has just under 65 000, and Matanikau river runs through it. It has an international airport, built 8 km from the center, and it brings together key government, businesses and cultural institutions of the country. One can move around by bus (minibuses there are economic and run regularly) or taxi, and it is also possible to rent a car. Admire Honiara to the national parliament building, visit the National Museum, which traces the history of the country, and the botanical garden with its stunning orchids, you will walk in the typical Chinatown, discover local products and handicrafts on the market in the center, which is privileged meeting point of all nationalities and ethnicities, then you will make on the various sites devoted to World War II that swarm in and around the city. Be sure not to introduce you to diving in the clear waters around the city: the nature is never far from Honiara and several beautiful sites to explore nearby.
