What to do in Corfou : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Corfu Town is located on the eponymous Greek island and is the capital. Located on the east coast, it is built on a hillside and has a busy port. You can admire a unique historical center, Venetian style, with narrow winding streets, dotted with pretty squares and churches, and quaint little shops. The cobbled streets are lined with houses with ocher and yellow facades. One of the most beautiful squares, the Spianada, faces south on a beautiful park. In front of the Spianada, you will find the entrance of the Old Fort, where you kiss a beautiful panorama. On the square of the City Hall, is the cathedral dating back to 1553. You will also be surprised to discover the Eleftherias street, copy of the Rue de Rivoli in Paris, which obviously dates from the French era. You will easily find in Corfu restaurants of all levels, and lovers of nightlife will have no trouble finding nightclubs, or may even go play casino. There is an airport in Corfu, but you can also arrive by boat from Greece or Italy.
