Apia is the capital of Samoa and is on the north coast of Upolu Island in the Pacific. It has about 37,000 inhabitants, and the village that gave it birth still exists in the middle of the new town, with its own commercial and tourist center of Samoa, Apia has a port (the largest of Samoa), an international airport , university and main administrations of the archipelago. Its economy is based on exports of fish and copra, and on tourism.
