What to do in Kota Kinabalu : Tips, places, hotels and restaurants
Located in Malaysia, on the northwest coast of the island of Borneo, Kota Kinabalu has over 600 000 inhabitants, and it is built near the Kinabalu summit, at over 4000 meters. Capital of the state of Sabah, the city is a resort in full development, very modern, and it offers several interesting sights for the visitor: the large craft market, mosque, museum, clock Atkinson, the national, botanical garden park. You can also visit the village of Monsopiad, where you will discover the lifestyle of the ethnic Kadazan; Lok Kawi Park, home to orangutans, tigers, deer and rhinos. For athletes, it is possible to go diving in the beautiful seabed, or play golf on one of the eight courses in the city, unless you prefer to learn a martial art in gyms Kota Kinabalu. To do so: admire a sunset at table on a terrace overlooking the beach Tonjong Aru; Multi-day climb Mount Kinabalu, or make a trek of several hours in the jungle at the foot of Mount; visit Mari-husband Village and its houses on stilts. Kota Kinabalu is accessed by plane from Kuala Lumpur (two hours flight). To get around town, you can choose between bus, taxi, and car or bicycle rental, which is probably the most convenient way for small distances.
